Added Features I would like to see

Added Features I would like to seeI would like to see the following please:
1. Editable food data base so that we have the option of getting rid of the foods that we will never eat therefore making it a lot more managable. 2. The ability to add calories burnt off during excercise. 3. The ability to add recipes (for all those home cooks out there). 4. Edit your profile if in case you want to change anything. Altho I realise it is a freebie I think it would give more flexibility to the user and (in my case neway) save having loads of bits of paper kicking about. If the ability to do any of the above already exists than I apologise but there is no mention of them in the instructions
Re: Added Features I would like to seeHi There,
Thank you, for the feedback. I really appreciate it, and I'm glad you like my program. In regards to you feature requests. 1. I though I had implemented this feature, but looks like I haven't. I may have accidentally removed it. Will add back into next version of eFit. 2. Yes this is a major missing feature from my program and has been on the to do list from day one. At the moment I was not planning to add it to the next release (1.5), but if you really really want it you might be able to talk me into bumping it up the priority list. 3. Currently this feature is 90% ready for version 1.5. To be tell you the truth I have not worked on eFit for many months. But its really good to have some feedback, so I might just get to work on it this week and try to get the next version out for you. That way you can tell me if anything is not working correctly with the recipes feature, as this is a tricky one to implement. 4. This is also on the way for 1.5. Also let my know if there are any little things that you think I need to fix up for the next release. Cheers, Tim
Re: Added Features I would like to seeHi again CeeCee,
I have released version 1.5 of eFit which implements what I think is the two most important feature requests you asked for. I will have added the other two to my todo list and they may make it into a future release. Feel free to give me some feedback on version 1.5 and the new features. Cheers, Tim
Re: Added Features I would like to seeHi Tim
Been away for a while. Certainly I'll upgrade to new version and let you know (in the nicest way Thanks for taking on board my requests. Cheers Clive
Re: Added Features I would like to seeok, been using this version for over a week or so now and getting the hang of it.
The good bit. Nice and straightforward to use. Creating recipes and adding foodstuffs is a cinch. The down side. 1. When editing the adding/editing servings the program also adds another 100 mg serving so on some items i have up 3 100grm servings. ( Not dire but it is annoying) 2. The recipe function is a doddle to use but I have found that if you make an error you cant edit the specific item in the recipe. Sadly you have to delete the recipe and start again, V annoying if you have maybe up to 10+ items in it. If this edit function does exist, than I apologise but please tell me how to use it. 3. I would like to see a liquid measure in the program. Gets a bit annoying having to covert mills into grams, Again, if its there and I just ca'n't see it than I apologise and need pointing in the right direction. 4. When adding the recipe to the meals it is displayed in expanded mode by default. Personally, so I can see the days intake at a glance, I would prefer to have it compressed with the choice of expanding it left down to the individual. Not a gripe per se, but I would like to see a print function added. When I went to my dietician the other day, I thought this would be good to take as she wanted me to write down, along with portions, everything I had eaten the previous week. I got round this by using a screen grabber but the figures were a bit hard to see. Enough griping, I am enjoying using this program, and when I get back into emplyoyment will send you a donation. all the best Clive
Re: Added Features I would like to seeHi Clive,
Thanks again for your extensive feedback, it really helps knowing what people really want to get out of the program. I will take a look at most of the issues this week when I get a bit of free time. Hopefully, I can get out a quick update that fixes most of annoying things you have come across. Cheers, Tim
Re: Added Features I would like to seeHi Clive,
I have released 1.6 fixing up a few of you issues, as well as a couple of others I came across in the process. In response to you post: 1. Has been fixed and also have added a delete function so you can now remove unwanted servings. 2. Remove food from recipe and edit food in database functions have been added to the recipe edit/create dialog just like the daily intake table. 3. This one is a little tricky, I have thought about this before and my decision was to not add such functionality. The problem comes down to physics, the units for 1gram of water is equal to 1mL of water, how ever this is not true for all liquids. For example milk is thinker than water and so the conversion is not necessarily 1g equals 1mL, hence there is not automatic way to do a conversion. In future some mL units may be added to our database but this may be a while off. 4. I agree with you on this one and have implemented it to be minimised by default. I didn't do this last release as I had no icon to represent a recipe. In a future release I may add the option to pick if you want recipes expanded/minimised. As for the print function you suggested I have added this to my to do list, it is quite a bit of work and I don't have a lot of free time at the moment so couldn't get it done this release. Hope you enjoy the new version, Cheers, Tim
